Master These Skills - Phrasal Verbs

Practice your skills on phrasal verbs.

A phrasal verb is a verb + another word. A phrasal verb can be: Verb + Adverb, Verb + Preposition, or Verb + Adverb + Preposition.

You can easily make a sentence with a phrasal verb! Instead of a verb, just put in a phrasal verb.

Subject + phrasal verb + object.

Example 1:

I cleaned up the mess on my carpet.

You can also put a pronoun between the verb and adverb. (Pronouns are "me", "him", "her", "it", "them", etc)

Example 1:

I cleaned it up.

You don't usually put a noun or long words between the verb and adverb. For example, "I cleaned the mess up" is not common. It sounds weird.

Also, you normally don't break up a 3-word phrasal verb. For example, you can say, "I came up with an idea." You don't say, "I came it up with" or "I came up it with".
