Part Disaster!

What Went Wrong At The Party?

Show me some ideas Hide the ideas

Julie thought the party was a success. She really enjoyed the party. She liked the food, loved the music, and enjoyed talking to people. She also made some new friends.

But, Julie didn't see the ugly fight between Jake and Harry. She left early, so maybe that was lucky for her.

Jake and Harry had a physical fight. "Physical fight" means they hit each other. Jake made some lame (stupid) jokes about Harry's hairstyle. Harry didn't like Jake's mean jokes. So, Harry swore at Jake. "To swear" means to use bad words.

Jake did a stupid thing, then. He filled up Harry's hat with his drink. He ruined (broke, destroyed) Harry's hat. Harry obviously got angry. That's how they got into a physical fight.

So, whose fault was it?

Jake did many wrong things. He was mean to Harry. He made fun of his hairstyle. And, he did ruin Harry's hat. But, Harry perhaps also share some blame. After all, he got very angry (maybe too quickly). He took a joke seriously. And, can he really hit another person? And, perhaps, they both had a bit too much alcohol ...
